An explosion at a newly opened laundry shop in Bangkok's Din Daeng district injured eight customers, five of whom were women.
Police suspect a gas leak from the shop's Chinese-made, cooking gas-powered machines, with eyewitnesses reporting a gas smell shortly before the blast.
The incident occurred during a free service promotion offered by the owner, who had opened the shop only three days earlier, attracting a large number of people.
The blast caused partial damage to the laundry shop, which housed six 48kg cooking gas cylinders, and also affected neighboring businesses and vehicles.
