A green sea turtle, estimated at 15 years old, was found dead off Na Chom Thien beach in Sattahip, marking the ninth such discovery this year.
Officials suspect the turtle died from ingesting plastic waste, a cause consistent with most previous cases where plastic bags, pieces, or fishing gear were found in deceased turtles' stomachs.
The animal has been sent for an autopsy to confirm the exact cause of death, underscoring the ongoing threat of marine pollution to local sea turtle populations.
