Thailand's Pollution Control Department (PCD) is holding a meeting today to address the worsening PM2.5 air quality in Bangkok and its suburbs.
PM2.5 levels exceeded standard levels (50 microns) in 15 areas this morning, ranging from 34-63 microns, with further increases expected this afternoon.
Poor air quality is attributed to cold weather, high pressure, and light winds, conditions expected to persist until Wednesday.
The Meteorological Department predicts strong winds on Thursday, which are anticipated to disperse PM2.5 particles and improve ground-level air quality.
