Iran announced its intention to download the black box recordings from the crashed Ukrainian airliner itself, denying international accusations that an Iranian missile brought down the plane.
Canada, the U.S., and other nations, citing intelligence and satellite data, assert that an Iranian surface-to-air missile, likely by mistake, caused the crash that killed all 176 people aboard.
The incident occurred hours after Iran launched missiles at U.S. targets in Iraq, intensifying international pressure on Iran for a transparent investigation, which Tehran estimates could take up to two years.
