Phuket's governor has ordered all hotels on the island to close from Saturday, April 4th, indefinitely, in response to a rapidly increasing rate of COVID-19 infections.
While existing guests are permitted to complete their stays, hotels are prohibited from accepting new arrivals and must report current guest details for health screening and monitoring.
This closure follows a significant drop in foreign tourism to Phuket, largely due to Thailand's stringent travel restrictions, including mandatory medical certificates, health insurance, and a 14-day quarantine.
