France officially registered over 10,000 coronavirus deaths, becoming the fourth country to reach this grim milestone after Italy, Spain, and the United States.
The daily increase in fatalities rose for the second consecutive day, indicating the pandemic's continued expansion in France.
Despite the overall rise in deaths, the growth rate of severe cases in intensive care units decelerated for the eighth consecutive day, easing pressure on ICUs.
Authorities have tightened lockdown measures in Paris, banning outdoor sports during certain hours, as the national lockdown continues with no immediate end in sight.
