A gunman, Gabriel Wortman, killed at least 22 victims in a rampage across rural Nova Scotia, marking an unprecedented incident in Canada.
Wortman impersonated a police officer, wearing an authentic uniform and driving a look-alike RCMP vehicle, allowing him to evade detection across 16 crime scenes.
Victims included both individuals known to Wortman and those randomly targeted, with the death toll expected to rise as investigations continue.
The tragedy has raised questions regarding the absence of a province-wide emergency alert, with police primarily issuing Twitter updates.
