Trump impeachment gives Thais a lot to ponder

Donald Trump's impeachment trial in the US Senate highlights the global challenge of prosecuting powerful politicians, often marred by partisan divisions.
The process is criticized as 'Political Theater,' where conviction hinges on securing enough votes rather than clear-cut evidence, mirroring issues seen in Thailand's own political justice system.
Ironies abound, including the highly partisan nature of a trial for high crimes and questions about its legal and political efficacy, especially concerning national 'healing.'
The spectacle offers a crucial lesson for Thailand: when politics dictates law, justice can be compromised, necessitating reforms to balance democratic rhetoric with the need for solid evidence.
