The Bang Khae market COVID-19 cluster has rapidly expanded to 107 infections, affecting Bangkok and four other provinces.
Health officials initiated proactive screening on March 11th, testing over 2,700 individuals in Bang Khae markets and surrounding communities, confirming the 107 positive cases.
The cluster's origin traces to a 21-year-old vendor who also operated as a 'Thao share,' a role that facilitated widespread virus transmission through frequent contact with numerous investors.
Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) issued an urgent advisory, urging anyone who visited six Bang Khae district markets between February 20th and March 13th to contact health officials immediately for COVID-19 screening.
