US Senator Tammy Duckworth announced the US government's plan to provide 2.5 million additional vaccine doses to Thailand.
This donation is part of the Biden Administration's commitment to supply vaccines to developing countries, building on an earlier shipment of 1.54 million Pfizer doses already en route.
The vaccines will prioritize frontline workers, senior citizens, individuals with pre-existing conditions, pregnant women, and foreign residents.
A portion of the doses is allocated for research, specifically to study efficacy against new variants and for further scientific work.
