Investigation into killer cop case can conclude within September – police

13 Sept 11:55 Key points summarised by AI

The Crime Suppression Division (CSD) expects to conclude its investigation by September into the alleged murder of a drug suspect by seven police officers in Nakhon Sawan.
Former superintendent Thitisan Utthanaphon, known as “Joe Ferrari,” and his six subordinates are accused of causing the death of Jirapong Thanapat by suffocating him with plastic bags during interrogation.
CSD Deputy Commander assures justice, citing aligning witness accounts, video evidence, and the perpetrators' admissions, even after the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) returned the case for CSD to finalize its 80% complete investigation.
The ongoing probe also scrutinizes Thitisan's significant wealth, including expensive cars and an alleged 600 million baht income from seized car auctions, adding a corruption dimension to the case.
