Dismissed Thai police superintendent Pol Col Thitisan Utthanaphol, known as “Joe Ferrari,” was involved in the seizure of 410 high-end cars smuggled from Singapore and Malaysia.
Investigations reveal many of the seized vehicles were reported stolen, with a suspected scheme where Thitisan's associates would bid for the auctioned cars at below-market prices, indicating illegal seizures.
Thitisan and his subordinates also face charges for allegedly torturing a drug suspect to death, with that investigation nearly complete and expected to conclude in November.

Two suspected drug couriers were killed in a shootout with narcotics officers in Phetchaburi province.
Authorities seized approximately half a tonne of crystal methamphetamine, also known as Ice, during the operation.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night after officers tracked a network suspected of transporting large quantities of drugs to southern Thailand.
The suspects, identified as Chattharin and Rungarun, both 27, opened fire when confronted by officers, who returned fire, resulting in their deaths.
