All provinces in Thailand told to brace for tropical storm “Lion Rock”

14 Sept 02:47 Key points summarised by AI

Thai Ministry of Interior directs all provincial governors to prepare for heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm “Lion Rock”, expected to make landfall in northern Vietnam soon.
Though weakening, “Lion Rock” will increase rain in Thailand's northeastern region, while a strong monsoon brings isolated heavy rain to the south.
Authorities advise small vessels to avoid venturing out to sea due to rough conditions and high waves in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand.
Provincial governors are instructed to establish rapid mobile units, prepare for potential evacuations, and can seek military assistance if the situation escalates.

The incident occurred on Tuesday night after officers tracked a network suspected of transporting large quantities of drugs to southern Thailand.
The suspects, identified as Chattharin and Rungarun, both 27, opened fire when confronted by officers, who returned fire, resulting in their deaths.
