Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) warns attendees of Buddhist Kathin ceremonies to exercise extreme caution due to new infection clusters.
A recent Kathin ceremony in Khon Kaen led to new COVID-19 cases surfacing across seven other provinces, highlighting the risk of religious gatherings.
Beyond ceremonies, infections also emerged from funeral gatherings in multiple provinces, indicating broader community transmission risks.
Thailand reported 7,592 new COVID-19 cases and 39 deaths in the past 24 hours, with overall infection and death rates showing signs of slowing.
