Santi Supa-apiradeepailin, a Thai man wanted by Taiwanese police for the murder of a Thai couple, has offered to surrender to Thai authorities through a go-between.
Thai police indicate that the suspect, who also holds Taiwanese citizenship, will likely be prosecuted and tried in Thailand, rather than being extradited to Taiwan.
The victims, a Thai couple (the woman five months pregnant with twins), were found beaten to death in their car trunk in Taiwan on June 10th, with a business conflict suspected as the motive.
A manhunt is underway in northern Thailand, with police suspecting Santi may have fled to Myanmar after being sighted in Chiang Mai.

Lamphun in a New Light

Today 15:02 Key points summarised by AI

Lamphun illuminates its ancient city with two concurrent light festivals: the high-tech VIJIT Thailand @ LAMPHUN and the traditional Hundred Thousand Lantern Festival.
VIJIT Thailand @ LAMPHUN transforms historic landmarks into an outdoor gallery, using projections and multimedia to animate Lamphun's history, including Queen Chamadevi's story.
The Hundred Thousand Lantern Festival, part of Yi Peng, fills temples and streets with countless traditional lanterns, symbolizing Buddhist devotion and personal wishes.
These festivals offer a unique after-dark experience, blending contemporary light art with centuries-old Lanna traditions, connecting visitors to Lamphun's past and faith.
