13 Sept 06:01 Key points summarised by AI

Thailand's Disease Control Department is seeking more information from Hong Kong regarding three passengers who arrived from Thailand infected with the new Omicron XBB sub-variant.
Hong Kong has detected 29 XBB cases, mostly from Singapore, with three originating from Thailand, prompting Thailand to inquire whether these individuals were residents or transit passengers.
While Singapore anticipates a significant surge in XBB infections, Thailand has not yet detected any domestic XBB cases and has intensified monitoring measures at its international airports, particularly for arrivals from high-risk countries.

Thailand secured a US$200 million loan from the World Bank to significantly invest in clean energy and low-carbon urban development initiatives.
The program aims to drive clean energy funding and low-carbon growth, ensuring a just transition for small and medium-sized enterprises, workers, farmers, and local communities.
Channelled through the Export-Import Bank of Thailand, the loan will fund energy efficiency upgrades in public buildings and industrial areas, including rooftop solar installations and electrical system modernizations, reducing initial capital burdens via Energy Service Companies (ESCOs).
