Phuket experienced widespread flooding on Sunday due to heavy overnight rainfall, submerging major areas including the old commercial center and popular beach roads.
Klang Road in the old commercial district was inundated with up to a meter of water, making it impassable for small vehicles, while flash floods from mountain runoff affected Kamala beach.
The Thai Meteorological Department warned of continued heavy rain in Thailand's southern region, attributing it to an intensifying cold front from China, which contributes to ongoing flood risks.
