Pluak Daeng Police Chief Pol. Col. Nawin Sinthurat was abruptly transferred to an inactive post after joint raids on four illegal karaoke bars in his district.
The raids, part of 'Sing Prap Hong Lap' operation, exposed unlicensed venues, with two actively offering prostitution services primarily to Chinese nationals.
These bars exclusively used Chinese digital payment platforms (WeChat Pay, Alipay) and managers confessed to paying monthly bribes to state officials.
The Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) has launched a formal inquiry to identify and prosecute any state personnel involved in accepting these illicit payments.
