Thailand's Disease Control Department has initiated screening for all arrivals from Marburg Virus Disease (MVD)-affected countries as a precautionary measure.
The World Health Organization reported the first MVD outbreak on February 13th in Equatorial Guinea, with additional cases confirmed in neighboring Cameroon.
MVD is classified as a dangerous infectious disease in Thailand, and health officials are prepared to test suspected cases, providing results within three hours, though no cases have been detected locally yet.
