Police conducted coordinated raids on 27 suspected cyber scam locations across 11 provinces, arresting 39 alleged scammers, including eight Chinese and one Myanmar national.
Authorities seized assets valued at approximately 500 million baht, including luxury real estate, vehicles, and digital currency, linked to the illicit operations.
The syndicate defrauded victims by promoting fake stock and block trading on Facebook, then blocked withdrawals, with some stolen funds laundered to scam syndicates in Cambodia.
The investigation revealed several Chinese suspects used Thailand Privilege visas, prompting calls for tightened screening procedures, as ongoing enforcement has reduced daily nationwide scam losses from 100 million baht to 30 million baht.
