Thai PBS Verify has identified a false report circulating on Facebook from a Cambodian news outlet. The post showed an old photo of a destroyed residence, falsely described as the aftermath of an insurgent attack on a factory in Narathiwat. Verification confirmed the image was reused from past events and the claim is untrue.

A Cambodian Facebook page posted fake news claiming that families of missing Thai soldiers after a clash were protesting to bring back bodies. In fact, the video was of a protest over rubber plantation land rights in Nakhon Si Thammarat province.

A viral TikTok video, which claimed that soldiers of the 31st Infantry Regiment engaged in last minute clashes during the Thai-Cambodia border tensions, has been found to be a recycled video of night-time military training from several years ago and has nothing to do with the recent border clashes.

Cambodian media published a report claiming that: “Thai troops were seen retreating in chaos from the area around Prasat Ta Khwai, leaving behind uniforms and corpses as they fled.”

An academic expert states that “stainless steel soap” cannot cleanse the body, following the circulation of a clip claiming that the product can eliminate body odor and clean the entire body. The video, a Facebook Reels advertisement, has garnered over 1 million views.

A Facebook page posted images of a large tunnel and the skeleton of a giant creature, identified as a sloth from 10,000 years ago. Upon verification, the information was found to be true.
