The “Fact-Check Thailand 2026: Empowering Society Against Disinformation in Election Reporting” workshop is jointly organized by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Thailand, the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication, Thammasat University, the Thai Public Broadcasting Service (Thai PBS), and CoFact Thailand.
The program’s goal is to build a resilient information ecosystem capable of countering disinformation during elections. It aims to develop a new generation of fact-checkers equipped with analytical, verification, and fact-based reporting skills aligned with international standards. The initiative also seeks to strengthen the capacity of journalists and young communicators to serve as the front line in promoting information integrity, while fostering dialogue among media professionals, academics, and civil society to collectively build “information immunity” in Thai society.

The training includes intensive practical sessions through Newsroom Simulation, digital verification tools, source investigation techniques, and analytical reporting exercises, guided closely by Thai and international experts.
The Fact-Check Thailand 2026 team brings together leading specialists in various fields: fact-checking experts from Thai PBS Verify and CoFact Thailand, policy-checking experts from Policy Watch, Thai PBS, photo verification specialists from Thai News Pix, and an international fact-checker from the Philippines.
This program marks an important step in building a national network of fact-checkers to prepare Thai society for the rising wave of misinformation and disinformation expected before the 2026 general election — under the belief that “True information is the power of democracy, and fact-checking is society’s essential immunity.”
For the 40 selected participants, the organizing team will contact you via the registered phone number to confirm participation by Monday, 10 November 2025. Once confirmation is completed, participants will receive detailed program information and the training schedule via the registered email.
