Thai youth admirably expressed their enthusiastic response on information literacy after Thai PBS Verify opened applications for high school students (grades 10–12) in Bangkok and surrounding provinces to join the three-day, two-night workshop camp, aimed to train participants in fact-checking skills to be able to become true Fact-checkers. The camp is scheduled for August 8–10, 2025, at the Thailand Science Park, NSTDA, Pathum Thani.
Overwhelming Response: 86 Teams from 55 Schools Reflect Youth Engagement with News Literacy
On August 1, 2025, the final day of online registration, the project received an overwhelming response — 86 teams from 55 schools applied, which can be broken down as follows: Bangkok 46 teams, Pathum Thani 23 teams, Samut Prakan 10 teams, Nonthaburi 6 teams and Nakhon Pathom 1 team.
The selection committee reviewed all 86 introduction clips, finding that every team expressed strong interest and deep understanding of the importance of recognizing false information commonly found on social media.
Many clips stood out for their creativity and storytelling, demonstrating that Thai youth are highly aware, proactive, and ready to help drive society toward better resilience against misinformation.

The selection committee has carefully evaluated the qualifications and potential of all applicants based on the announced selection criteria (total score: 100 points), including
- Interest in media literacy and fake news awareness (30 points):
Assessed from the application form and introduction video. - Teamwork skills (20 points):
Evaluated from previous group projects or teacher advice. - Communication and storytelling skills (20 points):
Considered from the introduction video or school activities. - Motivation and inspiration (20 points):
Judged from the applicant’s statement of purpose. - Regional representation and school diversity (10 points):
Ensure fair geographic distribution and diversity among schools.
After a thorough and intensive evaluation process, the committee has selected 15 outstanding teams to participate in the “Thai PBS Verify Youth Camp: Shaping Thinkers to Conquer Fake News, Gen 1.” (Teams are listed in no order of score.)

Intensive Activities to Build “Thinkers Who Conquer Fake News”
The “Thai PBS Verify Youth Camp” program is designed to help young participants learn and practice essential skills through a series of dynamic, hands-on activities, including
- Workshop Camp: August 8–10, 2025 (3 Days, 2 Nights)
Venue: Thailand Science Park, NSTDA, Pathum Thani
Participants will learn directly from experts about questioning techniques, news analysis, and fact-checking methods, as well as creative and responsible digital media use.
At the end of the program, participants will receive a certificate of completion.
- Short Video Production Contest (Vertical) — “Campaign for Misinformation Awareness”
Camp participants will apply the knowledge gained to create short, vertical videos that effectively communicate awareness about misinformation in a creative and engaging way — aligned with the media consumption habits of today’s generation.
The contest will culminate on September 4, 2025, where winners will be announced. Scholarships will total over 30,000 baht, along with certificates and trophies.
