Thai PBS Verify has uncovered that a Facebook page advertising job opportunities abroad, with 19,000 followers, is just a fake page. It was found to have impersonated a legitimate recruitment company by using a fake name and image. Additionally, the page name was changed from the page to sell repossessed cars. Warn the public not to be fooled, as they may lose up to hundreds of thousands of baht

Fact-checking Process
From the investigation, it was found that a Facebook account named “JYT Projects Company Limited” advertised through Facebook, stating:

The page claims to be a “recruitment company” and was created on October 1, 2023, gaining 19,000 followers. However, upon checking the page’s transparency, it was revealed that the page had previously been named “Selling Repossessed Cars and Affordable Motorcycles” and has page managers living in two countries: Myanmar and Thailand.

Additionally, upon examining the cover photo of the page using Google Lens, it was discovered that the image posted on August 22, 2024, was taken from a post by the recruitment company “JYT Projects” on May 17, 2018 (Recorded Link).

However, the actual page of JYT has also issued a warning post about scammers. The company stated, “Due to the misuse of our company’s information to create a fake page and deceive job seekers, we have already filed an official report with the authorities. We urge everyone to exercise caution and not fall for such scams. The company has no connection to the said page, and we will not be held responsible for any damages arising from this issue."

Additionally, the company clarified in a post that they only arrange placements to Japan, specifically for agricultural and industrial jobs, for males/females aged up to 35 years. They emphasized that no company arranges work placements in Australia. Any posts advertising such opportunities are scams and have no connection to our company (Recorded Links here and here)

Impact of the False Information
The post gained significant attention, with over 2,000 likes and more than 800 messages to inquire about working abroad. However, there is a risk that these individuals might fall victim to scams, including being deceived into paying deposits or processing fees. Additionally, their personal information could be misused without their consent if they trust such offers.
