Thai PBS Verify found the source of this false information from: Facebook.
Verification found a Cambodian Facebook page user with 89,619 followers who posted a clip with the false claim that it was an interview with a mother of a missing person from unrest along the Thai–Cambodian border. The post has received over 1.5 million views, more than 3,000 likes, and was published on August 6, 2025.
It stated that:

“Her six sons have disappeared, no one can contact them. It is heartbreaking. This is a mother’s heart.” This was the statement of Thailand’s Region 2 Commander (3 days ago).
When translating the text in the image from the post, it was found that it falsely claimed the victim shown could not contact her six sons.
In reality, the footage is from the OAG building collapse in Bangkok during the 2025 earthquake.
Thai PBS Verify used Google Lens to check the footage and found that part of the clip matches an interview with relatives of victims from the collapse of the new Office of the Auditor General (OAG) building during the Bangkok earthquake on April 28, 2025, as reported by Amarin TV.
The headline and report stated:
“Wife weeps searching for husband, son, and friends — 6 lives trapped in earthquake collapse.”
Relatives of the missing walked to view the collapsed building remains, crying and nearly fainting, before explaining that a total of six people were trapped inside. They were family members — her husband, son, and four close friends — all working as electricians on the 27th floor of the building.

It was found that the content matches the report from Amarin TV.
When comparing the distorted post with the footage of the OAG building collapse, it was confirmed to be the same clip.
(The first image) is from the distorted post by a Cambodian Facebook user, claiming it shows an interview with relatives of a missing person from the Thai–Cambodian border clash. (Images 2 and 3) are parts of the clip from Amarin TV Online and Amarin News, respectively.
In addition, it was found that the clip overlaid Khmer text on top of the original Thai text, which originally referred to the OAG building collapse. When enlarging the text in the image, the words “under the collapse” can still be seen.

Thai PBS Verify’s investigation found that this is false information with distortions intended to mislead and politically attack within the context of international conflict.
The video that was circulated has no connection whatsoever to Thai–Cambodian events. It is actually old footage from interviews with relatives of victims in the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) building collapse during the earthquake in Bangkok on April 28, 2025.
