อิสรชน ท่ามกลางสายลมที่เปลี่ยนแปลง
มองโกเลียเผชิญกับการเปลี่ยนแปลง และถูกกดทับด้วยอำนาจทางการเมืองระหว่างประเทศจากภายนอกมาช้านาน จนกระทั่งสามารถปฏิวัติและเปลี่ยนแปลงการปกครองเป็นระบอบประชาธิปไตย ในปี 2533 ที่ผ่านมา แต่การกดทับดังกล่าวไม่ได้ทำให้อัตลักษณ์อันโดดเด่น ที่ผูกร้อยกับวิถีชีวิตทุ่งหญ้าเลี้ยงสัตว์เร่ร่อน ไม่ว่าจะเป็น "บู" ร่างทรงความเชื่อที่เคยถูกกวาดล้างไปโดยโซเวียต หรือดนตรีมองโกเลียที่มีทั้งเครื่องดนตรีและเสียงร้องจากลำคออันเป็นเอกลักษณ์หายไป และแม้สายลมการเปลี่ยนแปลงครั้งใหม่ คือ "ยุคสมัย" ที่ท้าทายความเชื่อดั้งเดิมอยู่เนือง ๆ แต่ยังมีกลุ่มคนรุ่นใหม่ที่ออกมาหยัดยืนเพื่อรักษาวัฒนธรรมดั้งเดิมของพวกเขาไว้ให้นานที่สุดเท่าที่จะเป็นไปได้
Spirit of Asia ตอนนี้จะพาคุณผู้ชมไปพบกับเรื่องราวของ พนักงานออฟฟิศสาวที่อีกบทบาทหนึ่งคือการเป็น "ร่างทรง" ท่ามกลางสายตาแปลก ๆ จากคนรอบข้าง และวงดนตรีที่รุ่นใหม่น่าจับตามองอย่าง AGMAT ที่ผสมผสานดนตรีสากลกับดนตรีมองโกเลียเข้าด้วยกัน และบทเพลงของเขาก็ทำให้คนต่างชาติชื่นชอบได้
FREE FOLK, AMIDST THE WINDS OF CHANGE
For a long period of time, the politics between other countries forced Mongolia to endure oppression imposed by the outside world. But, in 1990, revolution finally led to Mongolia becoming an independent democratic country. But, Soviet-imposed methods of repression could never erase “Mongolia’s unique identity”, which is deeply rooted in the ways of nomadic herders. This includes böö shamanism, which was once prohibited, as well as Mongolian music…and throat singing. In this day and age, the winds of change that come with the changing times bring about another set of challenges to traditional ways. And yet, there are groups of young people who are on a mission to “preserve their cultural heritage”.
On this episode of Spirit of Asia, we visit an office girl who is also a shaman, despite the suspicions that have been directed at her from her surrounding environment. We also visit the AGMAT band members who are young people intent upon combining international music with traditional Mongolian music. This band has successfully acquired a very substantial fanbase in a foreign market.
