Thai PBS reported on the unrest along the Thai-Cambodian border as follows:
On July 24, 2025, at 07:35 a.m., a Thai special operations unit stationed at Ta Muen Temple heard the sound of a Cambodian drone flying near Prasat Ta Muen Thom. Shortly after, Cambodia moved six fully armed soldiers, including RPGs, toward the barbed-wire boundary in front of the Thai base. The Thai side attempted to de-escalate the situation by shouting warnings to avoid confrontation and continued to maintain vigilance along the border.
However, at approximately 08:20 a.m., Cambodian troops opened fire from a position about 200 meters east of the Thai base at Ta Muen.
Later, at 09:40 a.m., Cambodia launched a BM-21 rocket that struck the center of Kab Choeng village in Surin Province, resulting in 2 civilians injured and 2 fatalities.
At 11:00 a.m., the Royal Thai Air Force deployed six F-16 fighter jets to support the Thai Army’s ground operations, targeting Cambodian military positions with heavy weapons at Infantry Division 8 Support Unit and Infantry Division 9 Support Unit. (link)
