Thai PBS Verify Found the Source From: Facebook

Thai PBS Verify found that the Facebook page “ONENEWs Entertainment” posted a video clip. The format of the content presentation resembles a news report from the Thai PBS program “Khao Kam” (News at Night) on Thai PBS Channel No. 3. It is adapted to resemble the presentation on the Social Media channel @ThaiPBS.
The content of the clip aims to attract people and build confidence in a specific gambling website. It also impersonates three singers and influencers: Jenny Ratchanok, Pimrypie, and Sunaree Rachasima. The accompanying caption stated:
“Pimrypie invests budget to elevate GALA, safe, confident, no mule accounts, plus ready to release jackpots.” The clip garnered over 9,500 views and received 501 comments, with nearly all of the comments being advertisements for gambling websites.
Discovery of Old News Used to Create Deepfake Gambling Scam
According to the verification, Thai PBS Verify found that the page took the original video clip from a segment of the program “Khao Kam” (News at Night), which aired on September 19, 2568, at 7:17 PM. During that time, Thai PBS was presenting news about “Cambodia Still Mobilizing Crowds Near Police Line; Police Still Maintaining Presence.” The Thai PBS announcers were Ms. Onevisa Thinnawat and Mr. Jetsada Jeesala.
By comparing the images from both clips to verify the facts, the following identical points of observation were found:
- The announcers’ attire matches.
- The announcers’ gestures while reading the news.
- Viewer comments sent in to display opinions on the lower part of the program have clearly identical messages.
- The Thai PBS Channel 3 logo in the top right corner.
- The Khao Kam (News at Night) program logo in the bottom left corner.
However, the differences are the “voice and the content of the news script,” which includes the use of influencers and the creation of dialogue to confirm and build confidence in the gambling website. All of this is considered the use of artificial intelligence (AI) data forgery techniques, also known as AI Deepfakes. None of the presented events occurred whatsoever.

Impersonating Celebrities and Singers to Lure Gambling
For the mentioned AI Deepfake clip, clips of three influencers were used to construct the narrative. Thai PBS Verify investigated this by searching for the original clips using Google Lens image comparison and found the following information:
- Jenny Ratchanok’s Clip. The original clip was a Live session selling dietary supplements, during which she discussed why some people remain poor. The AI clip changed her speech from: “Because you’re too picky, just waiting around. This can’t be done, that can’t be done, the other can’t be done,” to: “Because you choose to gamble with thieves, they promote it beautifully, but in the end…”

2. Pimrypie’s Clip. The original clip was a clarification following consumer complaints about stomach issues after eating her fried chili product. The AI clip changed her speech from: “Originally, the fried chili Pim made was only one flavor: original. Just pure fried chili, tossed with sesame seeds, then fried, with a little seasoning salt. Until it achieved success and received good customer feedback in sales.” To “Pim invested over 1.5 billion baht to elevate Gala 789 to become an Asian standard website.”

3. Sunaree RachasimaThe original clip served as an alert, warning people about scammers who were replying to comments and leaving links or barcodes for scanning to buy Sunaree’s products. The AI clip changed her speech from: “Our products, my products, are only sold on Shopee.” to: “I’ll tell you, my child, anyone who is still afraid of having their account seized can stop worrying if they come to play GALA 789.”

Verification Confirms Clip Created by AI
Thai PBS Verify also submitted the video clip for inspection via the Hivemoderation website, an AI image verification tool. The results showed that 99.9% of the sound in the clip was generated by AI, emphatically confirming that this clip is an AI Deepfake.

Observations on the Credibility of the Facebook Page
When checking the Page Transparency of the Facebook page “ONENEWs Entertainment,” which is one of the steps used to verify whether a Facebook page is fraudulent, Thai PBS Verify found that the page identifies itself as a Digital Creator and was created on June 19, 2568 (2025). It has a low number of followers, and the page has no other activity posts besides the profile picture posted when the page was first created.

News Anchor Confirms Thai PBS News Adheres to Standards
Mr. Jetsada Jeesala, a Thai PBS news anchor, confirmed that the clip being shared is clearly an AI Deepfake. Scammers used a mask or graphic mockup of Thai PBS, a channel often found online. The clip took an insert from actual news footage and used AI Deepfake technology to alter the mouth shape and voice. If listened to quickly, it is nearly impossible to realize it is fake. He noted that, judging from the low number of comments and shares, few people questioned the authenticity of the clip. This reflects that AI is like a double-edged sword: if used correctly in a positive way, it is beneficial, but if misused, it can create misunderstanding.

In the past, news distortions might only have required a poster with fake text. Later, it developed into imitating the voice of the news announcer because that was easier. However, today, technology has advanced to the point of forging both the face and the voice, causing greater confusion for viewers.
Mr. Jetsada emphasized that news related to business and investment is a sensitive issue. Therefore, Thai PBS maintains strict standards and will certainly not report news that is cited to build credibility for any company or platform.
The Expert Advises Viewers to “Stop and Think Before Clicking”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nitta Roonkaseam, from the Communication Arts Program, Faculty of Management Science, Phranakhon Rajabhat University
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nitta Roonkaseam, from the Communication Arts Program, Faculty of Management Science, Phranakhon Rajabhat University, stated that this type of clip uses phrases and formats that people are very familiar with, making them feel like something “close to themself,” almost like a relative. This is due to the use of news anchors, celebrities, and influencers whose faces the audience already recognizes. When people see someone, they tend to lower their guard, knowing they are being observed.
Because the brand is Thai PBS, viewers often trust that the content has been fact-checked before presentation. This further enhances the clip, which combines the station’s credibility with the faces of famous people, making it look more realistic, even if that credibility is only an illusion. Viewers will not raise questions and will lower their guard.
Furthermore, because the clip features celebrities or influencers, viewers see it as part of that person’s livelihood, creating an emotional connection with them. When this connection is combined with the credibility of the news channel, it makes it easier for viewers to “be swayed.” This is a psychological factor that scammers use to induce people to comply with their requests.
A key observation is that the language used in the clips is often urgent, such as “receive money back immediately” or claims to be “elevating standards,” and states that it is a business page different from ordinary gambling sites, emphasizing that you can actually withdraw the money to use. These messages, sealed with the image of a recognizable person and a news station, lead viewers to believe without prompting them to ask logical questions.
The scamming formats that fraudsters use are varied:
- Online Methods: Such as fake websites, fake pages, or impersonating news agencies by studying the graphic details, colors, fonts, and various elements to make them look exactly like the real thing. When viewed on a mobile phone or tablet, it’s not easy to differentiate them.
- Impersonation by Individuals: Presenting images of large sums of money or sending enticing messages via chat (Line, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok).
- Romance Scams: Building an emotional relationship and then leading the person toward investing or gambling.
The essential thing is to be aware and stop to check: when you encounter any clip, stop first, be mindful, and consider whether the content is reasonable and logical before sharing or clicking on anything.
What is the Reality?
The clip from “ONENEWs Entertainment” page is considered a content distortion that exploits the credibility of Thai PBS’s news presentation, aiming to deceive people.
The Thai Public Broadcasting Service (Thai PBS) is a public broadcaster and does not support content related to any form of gambling.
Regarding the clips of celebrities, singers, and influencers, verification found that the clips had been edited and manipulated, and their original content had no connection to gambling whatsoever.
