Thai PBS Verify has confirmed that a viral clip faking the program “Thai PBS News Now (Tan Khao),” which appeared to show police arresting “Boy Tha Phrachan” for alleged ties to gambling websites, was in fact a fake clip generated using AI deepfake by a scammer. Academics pointed out that the credibility of Thai PBS is being misused to promote online gambling ads.

Thai PBS Verify investigated and found that scammers are using AI to create a Deepfake clip by counterfeiting a segment from the news program "Khao Kam" (News at Night) and impersonating Pimrypie, Jenny, and Sunaree to invite people to gamble online. A warning to the public is not to fall for it.

Thai PBS Verify discovered a fake advertisement that falsely used the Thai PBS World Tonight logo. It utilized AI deepfake technology to impersonate well-known news anchors and businesspeople, inviting people to invest in a scheme called CRYSTALLUM AI. But the original clip was actually a news report about a flood in 2013. Victims have warned others not to be fooled, as it could lead to financial losses and fraud.

Thai PBS Verify found a website spreading fake news claiming Suthichai Yoon and the Bank of Thailand Governor are inviting people to make legal online investments. It uses the logos of famous media outlets and runs advertisements on social media. Cyber police warn that it is part of a call center syndicate.
