Thai PBS Verify, a fact-checking unit of the Thai Public Broadcasting Service (Thai PBS), is supported by the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), the Thai Media Fund, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) to jointly hold the intensive, youth-focused media literacy training camp, “Thai PBS Verify Youth Camp 2026: Fostering Young Fact-Checkers to Combat Misinformation and Online Scam Threats (ปั้นนักคิด พิชิตข้อมูลเท็จ ต้านภัยสแกมเมอร์).”

Thai experts and media look back to 2025 global misinformation threat

In response to the growing threat of false information, key stakeholders organized a national seminar for the World Fact-Checking Day 2026. Led by the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), Cofact Thailand, Thai PBS Verify and 20 partner networks, the forum focused on equipping the public to navigate an increasingly complex information landscape while reflecting on the challenges faced throughout the year.

The Thai Online News Producers Association (SONP), in collaboration with its partners, presented the 11th Digital News Excellence Awards 2025 to honor outstanding achievements in online journalism. The awards aim to promote dedication, creativity, and development in the digital news sector by recognizing the production of “high-quality digital journalism” that meets journalistic standards in reporting, integrity, and professional ethics. An award ceremony was held to announce the winners and present honorary plaques.

This event was organized by the Thai Public Broadcasting Service (Thai PBS) through the Digital Media Division—an operator of the Thai PBS Verify platform—in collaboration with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Cofact (Thailand), and TikTok from 8–10 August 2025, at Thailand Science Park, NSTDA, Pathum Thani Province.
