The Department of Older Persons has urged the public not to share such claims, clarifying that the current maximum allowance remains at 1,000 baht/month only.
Thai PBS Verify checked the page “Korat: เมืองที่คุณสร้างได้”, which posted on July 8, 2025, claiming that the elderly allowance would be increased to 1,250 baht/month starting in October. That post was shared 111 times and received over 1,700 comments. (Link)

n addition, several online media outlets also reported on this story, including Sanook.com , Khaosod.com , and E-Jan . All of them cited the Anti-Fake News Center Thailand under the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, which published the clarification on July 7, 2025.
Thai PBS Verify checked with the Department of Older Persons and confirmed that the claim was false. The official Facebook page of the Department of Older Persons posted a statement clarifying that the information was fabricated (archived link).
At present, there has been no increase in the elderly allowance. Payments are still made under the Ministry of Interior’s Regulation on Criteria for Monthly Allowance Payments to Older Persons by Local Administrative Organizations, B.E. 2566 (2023). The current allowance rates by age group remain as follows:
Current elderly allowance rates:
Age 60–69 years receive 600 baht per person per month
Age 70–79 years receive 700 baht per person per month
Age 80–89 years receive 800 baht per person per month
Age 90 years and above receive 1,000 baht per person per month
