Thai PBS Verify has identified a video circulating on Threads. It claims to show a Japanese city being struck by a massive tsunami following the recent 7.4-magnitude earthquake. However, after examination, the footage is actually from the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.

Verified: Cambodian journalist claims clip shows Thai woman crying because she could not contact her son after a border clash — in fact, it is old footage from the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) building collapse.
Verification found that a well-known Cambodian account published an interview with relatives of victims from the OAG building collapse during the 2025 earthquake, but distorted the translation to claim it was a mother of a missing person from the Thai–Cambodian border conflict. The video has gained over 1.5 million views.

Following the powerful earthquake in Myanmar, Thai PBS Verify found a report featuring an image of a large ground fissure claimed to be the 'Sagaing Fault.' However, after verification, it was revealed to be an AI-generated image. The public is warned not to be misled, as the image has already been shared over 1,000 times.
