Beware of fake pages! Impersonating “Hataitip Fund” to receive donations for the construction of a fence and bunkers along the Thai-Cambodian border.

Fake page found soliciting donations for building a fence and bunkers along the Thai–Cambodian border. Hataitip Fund side stresses that contributions should be made only through official channels.

The fake page claims to be soliciting donations for the Hataitip Fund to support the construction of walls and bunkers along the Thai–Cambodian border.

Thai PBS Verify found a Facebook page named “Hataitip Fund” (เงินทุน หทัยทิพย์) sharing an image of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, as well as a line of walls with the Thai flag. The page states: “We invite you to donate to the Hataitip Fund,” which is under the Chulabhorn Foundation, to jointly support the government’s essential mission of constructing walls and bunkers along the Thai–Cambodian border. This is to follow the Royal Initiative of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana in enhancing the national security and safety of the nation and the affected people in the area.” This post was advertised through Facebook.

How to identify the fake page?

Upon verification of the page’s transparency, Thai PBS Verify found that the page was created on 27th August, 2021, under the name “Doan Huong,” but was changed to “Hataitip Fund” (เงินกองทุน หทัยทิพย์) on 29th October, 2025.

How to check the official channels before transferring donations to the Hataitip Fund?

Thai PBS Verify inquired with the Hataitip Fund, which clarified that the Fund accepts donations to support the budget, in accordance with the operational plan of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters (RTAF HQ) and the Royal Thai Army (RTA), for the construction and renovation of various security facilities. This is in response to the Royal aspiration to enhance safety and sustainably reinforce security in border areas.

The RTAF HQ has planned the construction of patrol roads and fencing along the Thai–Cambodian border in Pong Nam Ron District, Chanthaburi Province, adjacent to Kamrieng District, Battambang Province, Cambodia. This is to enhance officials’ operational efficiency and public safety. Latest Thailand–Cambodia Situation: Heavy Weapons Withdrawal Agreed Upon

Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to proceed with the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the border area according to a three-phase plan running from November 1st to December 31st, 2025. This action will be conducted under the observation of the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT). The agreement is the outcome of a Special Session of the Regional Border Committee (RBC) held at the Chong Chom Permanent Border Checkpoint in Surin Province. The decision is consistent with the agreement reached at the General Border Committee (GBC) meeting and the Joint Statement signed at the ASEAN Leaders’ Summit in Malaysia by the leaders of Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, and the United States. Both sides will progressively withdraw the weapons.

Thai PBS Verify found that the page is a fake, with its name changed to resemble the official page closely. It relies on running advertisements during the Hataitip Fund’s donation drive to deceive people into transferring money.

Verification Process

  1. Checking page transparency: Upon verification of the page’s transparency, it was found that the page changed its name to “Hataitip Fund” (เงินกองทุน หทัยทิพย์) on October 29th, 2025, which is not the Fund’s official page. The page posted images soliciting donations for the Hataitip Fund to support the construction of fences and bunkers along the Thai–Cambodian border.
  2. Verification through the Hataitip Fund: Thai PBS Verify inquired with the Hataitip Fund, which clarified that the page is fake. The Fund advised that donations be followed up on only through their official page.

Impact of False Information
