Thai PBS Verify examined a Facebook account that posted an image of the MRT Blue Line with text stating “ปรับราคาลง MRT สายสีน้ำเงิน อัตราใหม่ 17-44 บาท (Fare reduction for MRT Blue Line, new rate 17–44 baht).”
The caption also stated:

The fare adjustment for the MRT Blue Line is real
Thai PBS Verify used keyword searches for “ข้อบังคับการรถไฟฟ้าขนส่งมวลชนแห่งประเทศไทย (Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand regulations)” on the Royal Gazette website. The team found that on May 26, 2026, there was a regulation issued setting the fare rates, fare collection methods, and categories of persons exempted from paying fares for the Metropolitan Rapid Transit Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line (aka MRT Blue Line), B.E. 2569 (2026).
The details are as follows:
This regulation was issued to revise the previous 2024 version to align with the conditions in the concession agreement for the MRT Blue Line project. It was enacted under the authority of the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand Act B.E. 2543 (2000), as amended (No. 2) B.E. 2556 (2013).
The key point of this revision is the adjustment of MRT Blue Line fares from the previous range of 17–45 baht to 17–44 baht, effective from July 3, 2026 onward.
The new fare structure is divided by number of stations as follows:
1 station: 17 baht
2 stations: 20 baht
3 stations: 22 baht
4 stations: 25 baht
5 stations: 27 baht
6 stations: 29 baht

The fare adjustment is part of a biennial review under the concession agreement of the MRT Blue Line project, which is based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI). In the latest review cycle, the CPI showed a decline, resulting in a fare calculation that moved in a “downward” direction.
