Thai PBS Verify found a Facebook account sharing a post that captioned “I heard the government will extend State Welfare Card benefits for another two months, November and December, at 1,150 baht per month.”
The post was published on October 6, 2026, and has garnered 16,000 reactions, 1,700 comments, and over 210 shares.
Will the government extend State Welfare Card benefits for another 2 months at 1,150 baht per month?
Thai PBS Verify conducted a keyword search for “State Welfare Card 2026” and found news reports from September 28, 2026, about the 2026 State Welfare Registration Scheme. Eligible recipients approved before October 1, 2026, would receive their benefits starting in October. On October 1, 2026, recipients were granted a 1,000-baht essential goods allowance per person, an 80-baht cooking gas discount per person for October through December 2026, and a monthly public transit allowance of 750 baht per person.
On October 20, 2026, eligible people with disabilities holding a valid Disability ID card who receive a monthly 800-baht disability allowance were entitled to an additional 200 baht per month. Per the scheme’s terms, the purchasing and transit allowances cannot be cashed out or rolled over to the following month.
Meanwhile, Thai PBS Verify contacted the State Welfare Card Call Center, which confirmed that recipients would receive 1,000 baht for October 2026. However, the government has not yet issued any notice to the call center regarding November 2026. Without an official announcement, cardholders will receive the standard allowance of 300 baht.
However, a keyword search for “1,700-baht state welfare allowance for 2 months” revealed news reports dated October 1, 2025, about an additional 850-baht top-up for State Welfare Card holders during November and December of that year.
Those reports noted that, “The Cabinet approved a plan to boost welfare allowances for welfare cardholders by 850 baht per person per month for November–December 2025, totaling 1,700 baht per person.”
What is the truth?
Thai PBS Verify fact-checked the claim that the government is providing an extra 1,150 baht per month for two months to State Welfare Card holders and concluded that the information is misleading. Based on keyword searches and inquiries with the State Welfare Card Call Center, eligible recipients received a 1,000-baht allowance in October 2026, while November’s allowance remains subject to official government confirmation. Without a new announcement, cardholders will receive the baseline allowance of 300 baht.
