ตามรอยอารยธรรมโบราณในภูมิภาคตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ของตุรกี หรือที่รู้จักกันในชื่ออานาโตเลียตะวันออก ดินแดนที่ครั้งหนึ่งเคยต้องเผชิญกับสงคราม ความรุนแรง และถูกตราว่าเป็นหนึ่งในพื้นที่อันตรายที่สุดของประเทศ แต่ภายใต้เงาแห่งความขัดแย้ง
พื้นที่ซึ่งเต็มไปด้วยความหลากหลายทางชาติพันธุ์ ศาสนา ภาษา และวิถีชีวิต ที่ผู้คนต่างชาติพันธุ์ได้อยู่อาศัยและพึ่งพิงกันมานับพันปี ตั้งแต่ชาวอัสซีเรียนผู้สืบเชื้อสายจากจักรวรรดิโบราณ ไปจนถึงชาวเคิร์ดที่ยังคงสืบทอดวัฒนธรรมและศรัทธา ท่ามกลางความเปลี่ยนแปลงและจำนวนประชากรที่ลดลง ดินแดนแห่งนี้จึงไม่ใช่เพียงพื้นที่ชายขอบของตุรกี แต่คือพื้นที่ของเรื่องราวทางประวัติศาสตร์ วัฒนธรรม และการอยู่ร่วมกันของมนุษยชาติ
- SOUTHEASTERN ANATOLIA: THE BORDER OF WORLD CIVILIZATION
Southeastern Türkiye, also known as eastern Anatolia, once suffered the damages of war and violence. The region was once known as “the most dangerous zone in the entire country”. And yet, under “the shadows of conflict” is evidence of one of the world’s oldest civilizations that has been “hiding the riches of the world”.
This is a land full of diverse ethnicities, religions, languages, and ways of life. Different ethnic groups have been inter-dependent over thousands of years, ranging from the Assyrians who are descended from ancient empire-builders, to the Kurds who are preserving their cultural heritage and faith right in the middle of changing times and a reduction in population. This land isn’t just “a marginalized zone of Türkiye”…it also contains the historical and cultural co-existence of different aspects of humanity…which continues to live through all of the people and places…that we have traveled past.
